All-Party Group is back in business
Monday 20th January 2020
All-Party Parliamentary group on General Aviation (APPG-GA) has officially re-formed after a brief hiatus for the General Election.
The Group held an inaugural meeting in Westminster Hall to re-appoint Chairs and Officers ready for the new Parliament.
Chair of the APPG-GA Mark Pritchard said “It is good to be back after the election period and I know members are keen for the group to pick up where it left off late last year.
“It was fantastic to see several new MPs at our first meeting; it shows there is an appetite to continue supporting GA in the new Parliament. I look forward to working with members to support the Government’s objective of making the UK the best country in the world for General Aviation.”
At the meeting, members discussed how aviation can inspire young people to take up careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Also high on the agenda was the need to cut the cost of flying training to promote diversity in the airline industry
