Membership soars past 40 parliamentarians showing clear support for General Aviation

Membership of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on General Aviation has soared past 40 parliamentarians, in a clear sign of support for the General Aviation sector.

Some of the latest additions to the Parliamentary membership include former Cabinet ministers Lord Blunkett and Lord Maude of Horsham, and former Leader of the Liberal Democrats Lord Campbell of Piteenweem.

The APPG boasts parliamentary support from across all the main political parties and both Houses of Parliament, and the group believes it can boost membership further still.

Grant Shapps MP, Chair of the APPG, said: “It is fantastic to have so many parliamentarians supporting General Aviation and the aims of the group – to make the UK the best country in the world for General Aviation, and ensuring our network of airfields are protected and enhanced.

“It is absolutely vital that the high-tech jobs and growth generated by the sector are not lost, and boosting the voice of General Aviation in Parliament is one of the ways we can ensure this. I look forward to seeing many more MPs and Peers join the cause!”
